Meetings and 106.1(Kiss FM) Nationally-Syndicated Shoutout!
After the work, we had phone calls and support from Texas Representative, Matt Shaheen, and Kevn Butler, a world-renowned artist and musician, known for his hybrid guitars, made from trash. Not only did we get support and retweets, we also gained information about both music and current landfill laws and legislations. Moreover, we were on 106.1 Kiss FM Kidd Kraddick in the Morning show, a nationally syndicated radio show program, where they explained our project, hence, spreading the awareness to all the listeners across the nation. Listen to this national "shoutout" by going to our twitter...it is pinned at the top of our page.

Tweets & Communication Received By Notable Experts, Politicians and Celebrities
We have been tweeted various times by many people in and out of our community. We have been retweeted by the Frisco Mayor, Maher Maso, by Texas representative, Matt Shaheen, by Times Magazine "top 100 most influential people", Chris Temple, and by “Top 50 Most Influential Teachers in the World” according to Global Teacher Prize/Varkey Foundation, Ron Davis Alvarez.
It was an honor to be in communication with our inspiration for the project, the actual Landfill Harmonic, or as known in Paraguay, The Recycled Orchestra. |
CBS Television Interview
After establishing our music camp at the boys and girls club (where we not only taught them music, but also where we educated them about recycling), we were interviewed by CBS11. Our segment explained some of our project's main points and was aired three times between two days. Not only did we get interviewed on CBS, we also have an article about us on our district's website, Frisco ISD, along with News United, our community's rotary club and our schools broadcast program.

Mexico Receiving the First Shipment
Casa Hogar Elim Orphanage is a mere orphanage in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. In the winter, the kids sit around in the cold waiting for a bless to come, something to do, or anything that can help. In the summer they sit, half-melted thinking about their lives...however no matter what they think, no matter what language they speak, music speaks to us all. We gave these children a second chance, giving them a drop of hope in the pool of dreams they have, bringing them closer to what they want. Life is all about dreams, yet dreams need a first building block...a second chance.

Establishing relationships with the Boys and Girls' Club
Not only did we want to benefit the people in need all around the world (as mentioned on the "Upcycling and Recycling" page), we also want to help the people in our own community. By this desire, we joined the kids at the Boys and Girls club and gave them a second chance by giving them the opportunity to engage in environmental awareness. Not only do they learn about the environment, kids also get to enhance their creative thinking by helping them make instruments and give them a second chance by creating a music program. In this program, the children get to build instruments (safely, under supervision and without the use of any dangerous tools), they are taught how to play these instruments and they receive multiple ways of practice.
